Namoo
Namoo—meaning “tree” in Korean—is a poetic VR narrative brought to life using Oculus’ Quill, designed as a hand‑painted animated experience. Directed and written by Erick Oh, Namoo serves as an intimate ode to the filmmaker’s grandfather, tracing the life of a man from youthful artist to reflective elder. As his memories accumulate, they form a metaphorical tree—a living tapestry of milestones and mementos, from childhood toys and books to symbols of regret and lost love. The narrative unfolds on a grassy knoll, where the seed of the tree mirrors the growth, memory, and emotional landscape of the protagonist’s journey.
