Scot Stafford
Scot Stafford is an Emmy and Annie Award–winning composer, known for writing music that cuts straight to the heart, whether through humor, heartache, grandeur, or all of the above. His scores are character-driven and story-first.
He often begins work with just art and storyboard, long before animation begins, collaborating with directors like Peter Ramsey (Lost Ollie), Shannon Tindle (Ultraman: Rising and Lost Ollie), Jamie Hewlett (Gorillaz - Saturnz Barz) and Glen Keane (Trash Truck). This early involvement allows Stafford to develop deeply integrated themes but also to foster deeply engaged music teams as creatively empowered collaborators.
As founder of Pollen Music Group, Stafford’s hallmark is an integrated approach that unifies music, dialogue, and sound design into a single emotional and technical arc. This philosophy elevates not just each element, but the entire final mix - reducing friction and ensuring that storytelling remains the focus. Stafford has garnered Four MPSE Golden Reel Awards for sound supervision and design, reflecting his leadership across the entire sonic landscape of both animated and immersive storytelling.
